Answers Before You Pick Up the Phone
When one zone holds and the other does not, the sealed system is almost certainly fine, because a refrigerant fault would affect the whole cabinet. The usual causes are a failed evaporator fan for that zone, a damper stuck closed, or a thermistor reporting the wrong temperature to the control. All three are ordinary repairs.
It should not. Floor protection goes down first, the work area is kept tidy throughout, and we clean down before leaving. Careful conduct inside the house is part of the job rather than an extra.
Sometimes, but not usually first. A unit running non-stop and still losing ground is more often a condenser choked with dust, a condenser fan that has stopped, or a door seal letting warm air in. We check those before touching the sealed system, because they are far cheaper and far more common.
