Walk-In Cooler Repair
Walk-In Cooler Repair Across Los Angeles
A box drifting out of range puts stock and compliance at risk at the same time. We diagnose the sealed system, the defrost cycle and the controls, and tell you the cost before we start.
Mobile service · Built-in specialists · Upfront pricing
A walk-in that is two degrees out is a different emergency to a home appliance. Product is at risk, temperature logs have to hold up, and the box cannot simply be switched off while someone thinks about it. That is why the diagnosis has to be right the first time.
ApexPro services walk-in coolers and freezers for restaurants, markets, florists and businesses of every size across Los Angeles. We work through the condensing unit, the evaporator, the defrost cycle and the controls in order, and we tell you plainly which faults need attention now and which can be scheduled.
Signs It Is Time to Call
- The box is holding several degrees above its setpoint
- Ice is building up on the evaporator coil or the ceiling of the box
- The condensing unit short cycles, starting and stopping repeatedly
- Water is pooling on the floor of the box or at the door
- The door no longer seals, or the sweep and gaskets have failed
- Temperature swings widely between readings on the log
Why ApexPro
Why Homeowners Call Us for Walk-In Cooler Repair
Sealed-System Capability
Manifold gauges, superheat and subcooling checks, recovery and proper evacuation. Refrigerant faults are measured, not guessed.
Defrost Faults Resolved
A coil icing over is usually a defrost timer, heater or termination fault. Clearing the ice without fixing that just delays it.
Fast Response
A box out of range is scheduled as urgent, because stock loss and compliance both run on the same clock.
Clear Costs
You get the diagnosis, the repair cost, and an honest note on anything that will need attention soon.
How it works
A Repair Without the Guesswork
- Step 1
Tell Us the Box Temperature
Setpoint, current reading, and how long it has been drifting. Whether the unit is running constantly matters too.
- Step 2
We Come to You
Appointments across the LA metro, prioritised when product is at risk. Contactors, fan motors and controls travel with the technician.
- Step 3
Diagnosis and Upfront Price
Condensing unit, evaporator, defrost cycle, controls and door seals are checked in sequence, then you get the fault and the number.
- Step 4
Repair and a Pull-Down Check
We stay with the box until it is pulling down properly and we confirm it is holding, rather than leaving on a first good reading.

What Los Angeles Customers Say
Joe has repaired two refrigerators and freezers for me across two different apartments, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. He has tremendous integrity, is thorough in diagnosing issues, patiently answers questions, and clearly explains different repair options to fit various budgets. He's responsive, punctual, and gets the job done right. I really appreciate his craftsmanship, knowledge, honesty, and professionalism. I'll definitely be calling Joe again for any future appliance repairs.
I highly recommend ApexPro. My freezer drawer was freezing over.... a snow storm inside of it! Joe identified the problem, ordered the part and came 3 days early to fix it! He left everything super clean, even pulled out the fridge so the floor could be swept. I've tried many other companies... this is the first I strongly recommend. Thanks Joe for the great job.

Questions
Answers Before You Pick Up the Phone
Ice on the evaporator almost always means the defrost cycle is not doing its job: a failed defrost heater, a timer or control that is not initiating, or a termination sensor that ends the cycle too early. Clearing the ice makes the box work again for a day or two, which is exactly why the defrost circuit needs to be diagnosed rather than the ice simply removed.
The most common causes are a condenser choked with dust and grease, a condenser fan that has stopped, a door seal letting warm air in continuously, or a genuine refrigerant loss. We check airflow and door seals before the sealed system, because those are far more common and far less expensive.
Yes. We are equipped for sealed-system diagnosis on walk-in equipment, including gauge readings, superheat and subcooling checks, recovery and proper evacuation, rather than simply adding refrigerant to a system that is losing it.
Boxes with product at risk are prioritised. Call (323) 740-2901, tell us the current box temperature and the setpoint, and we will give you the earliest realistic window rather than an optimistic one.
Yes. Freezers bring more defrost-related work and more door heater and sweep faults than coolers do, but the diagnostic approach is the same: sealed system, airflow, defrost and controls, in that order.
Walk-in diagnostics are $125, rather than the $50 we charge on a standard in-home appliance. A walk-in takes longer and the condensing unit is usually on the roof, so the technician has to get up there and check the system properly before anything can be said about the fault. You get the repair price before any work starts.
